Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 May 2026 · Version 1.0

Acceptance

By creating an account or using LandingPoint, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use LandingPoint.

If we update these terms, we'll notify you via email before the changes take effect. Continuing to use LandingPoint after updated terms go into effect constitutes your acceptance of the new terms. If you disagree with any changes, you can delete your account before they take effect.

Your account

One person, one account. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure — that means protecting access to the email address you use to sign in, since LandingPoint uses magic link authentication. Don't share your sign-in links with others, and don't allow anyone else to access your account on your behalf.

If you suspect unauthorized access to your account — for example, if you receive a magic link email you didn't request — notify us immediately at jodydavidroberts@gmail.com. We'll investigate and take steps to secure your account, which may include invalidating existing sessions.

Acceptable use

We expect you to use LandingPoint in good faith — as a tool for researching your relocation. The following activities are prohibited:

  • Scraping or crawling — using automated tools, bots, or scripts to extract data from LandingPoint. This includes programmatic access to pages, APIs, or map tiles beyond normal browser usage.
  • Unauthorized access — attempting to access other users' data, workspaces, or accounts. Each user's saved entities and notes are private to their workspace.
  • Illegal activity — using the service for any purpose that violates applicable law, including but not limited to housing discrimination, fraud, or harassment.
  • Infrastructure abuse — sending excessive requests that degrade service quality for other users, attempting to bypass rate limits, or deliberately overloading our servers.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. In serious cases (e.g., attempted data theft or repeated abuse), we may take action without prior warning.

Your content

You own what you add — notes, ratings, custom places, family data. All of it is yours. We make no claim of ownership over any content you create on LandingPoint.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to store, process, and display your content back to you and family members you've invited to your workspace. This license exists solely to deliver the service — we need to store your notes in our database and show them on the map. That's the full extent of the license. We don't use your content for marketing, training, or any other purpose beyond service delivery. We don't share it with third parties.

When you delete content (a note, a saved listing, a custom place), it's removed from our database. When you delete your account, all of your content is permanently deleted. There is no recovery process after account deletion — please export any data you want to keep before deleting your account.

Availability

LandingPoint is provided on a best-effort basis. There is no SLA (service level agreement) at this tier, and we don't guarantee any specific uptime percentage.

We may experience downtime for planned maintenance or unexpected issues. Planned maintenance windows are typically scheduled during low-traffic hours, though we don't guarantee advance notice for routine maintenance. We may modify features, update the interface, or adjust functionality as the product evolves.

If we ever decide to discontinue the service entirely, we'll give at least 30 days notice via email to all account holders, along with the opportunity to export your data before the service shuts down.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. This means we don't guarantee that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any data displayed will be accurate or complete.

Listing data comes from third-party sources — including Rightmove, Zoopla, OnTheMarket, and OpenStreetMap — and may be inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete. Property prices, availability, school ratings, and preschool details should always be verified directly with the relevant institution, estate agent, or official source before making any decisions.

LandingPoint is not property advice, financial advice, legal advice, or educational guidance. We provide information to help you research — but the decisions you make based on that information are your own responsibility.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to your use of LandingPoint is limited to the total fees you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. For the free tier, that's £0 / $0.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, regardless of whether we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

Specifically, we're not liable for:

  • Decisions you make based on listing data displayed on LandingPoint
  • Third-party service outages (Supabase, Railway, map tile providers, etc.)
  • Data loss caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including force majeure events such as natural disasters, war, pandemic, or government action

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from /account/security. Account deletion is immediate and permanent — all your data (saved entities, notes, ratings, workspace content) is removed from our database. Server logs containing your IP address will expire naturally within 30 days per our standard retention schedule.

We may terminate or suspend accounts that violate these terms. Where possible, we'll give you notice and an explanation before taking action. For material changes to these terms, we'll give at least 30 days notice via email so you can review the changes and decide whether to continue using the service.

Governing law

For UK-based users: these terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.

For US-based users: these terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of Mecklenburg County, NC.

Jurisdiction is determined by the primary location associated with your account — typically the country from which you registered or primarily use the service. If you're unsure which jurisdiction applies to you, contact us and we'll clarify.
